VLA-215 – Enewave

Overview

VLA-215 is a vertical line array cabinet specially designed by ENEWAVE for large-scale performance systems.

It is an important part of the VLA-215 system. The active three-way system requires four channels of power amplifier driven. Excellent component and coupling technology have made VLA-215 becoming to one of the world’s top professional performance systems. The cabinet is made of Baltic birch plywood and a highly protective poly-urea coating, and the vertical array of hanging kits is directly integrated into the cabinet structure.

After precise calculations, Enewave engineers designed a unique axe-shaped phase plug technology. The axe-shaped phase plug is placed in front of the compression driver to compress the spherical wave emitted by the driver.

After passing through the surface of the axe-shaped phase plug, no matter which way, it can reach the narrow groove in front at the same time. The same phase and frequency spectrum form a new cylindrical wave front again, and multiple speakers are closely superimposed.

A longer cylindrical wave front will be formed and the sound pressure levels will continue to be superimposed but there will be no interference. The design and application of the independent drive of each unit can even allow system engineers to target different

Description

VLA-215 is a three way active full-range linear array loudspeaker composed of 2×15 inch woofer, 2×8 inch midrange unit, and 2×3 inch tweeter compression driver. The cabinet is made of high-strength Baltic birch plywood, tongue-and-groove joining technology combined with aluminum alloy structural parts. The surface coating is made by multi-layer poly-urea spray paint which is strong, durable and environment friendly. VLA-215 works in the range of 50-19000Hz. It can combined with the VLA-215SUB subwoofer to become to a four-way large-scale sound reinforcement system and the low-frequency response can be extended to 35Hz.
The flying hardware in the cabinet can be adjusted unit vertical angle from 1°to 8°. The symmetrical cabinet and the application of the axe-shaped phase plug technology allow the VLA-215 vertical line array combination to obtain high-quality frequency curve characteristics so as to truly obtain a smooth response curve and a true linear array system covered. Especially when used in EDM concerts, you can add a VLA-132 32-inch self-powered subwoofer. In addition to extending the low frequency to an astonishing 25Hz and obtain up to 15000W of surging energy.
The VLA-215 large format vertical linear array speaker is particularly suitable as the FOH speaker system to appear in various types of large-scale sound reinforcement systems. The diffusion angle of 100 degrees can easily cover a wide area.

The VLA-215 system uses the VLA-215 Multipurpose Grid exclusive hanging system for flying and linking, and the hanging system needs to be configured when the system is configured. Each set of VLA-215 Multipurpose Grid can hang 24 VLA-215 or 12 VLA-215SUB line array subwoofers. VLA-215 and VLA-215SUB are also allowed to direct linking together.
